It Isn't All Fun and Games

It's important to have things to look forward to and enjoy, and if we're fortunate, most days, we like what we do and the people we spend time with. Much of life requires time and energy directed toward tasks that support our commitments to our jobs, homes, and ourselves. These actions are not always enjoyable, easy, or immediately rewarding.

A commitment is an action that demonstrates that something's important. There's something here that requires attention and time, and the hope is that it leads to a positive outcome. This promise to yourself and others is valid and necessary, regardless of whether you feel like or enjoy doing it. The action required to meet the commitment simply needs to be done.

This isn't a bad thing. This is the wisdom of recognizing the fleeting nature of time and the importance of the choices we make here and now.

What are you committed to?
